The Home Tailor is an interior design business that specializes in small packages that offer little demolition and dramatic results. My clients first approached me with the idea to only specialize in closet organization, but changed their business goals. The clients business goals changed several times throughout this project, and so did their mindsets on what sort of feel they wanted presented in their branding. Below are the sketches I created for this company. A lot of interior design businesses have a clean, modern feel, but they often look similar and lack personality or uniqueness. I wanted my clients to have branding that stood out because they planned on offering unique design packages that nobody else was offering.

My clients agreed that a unique modern logo that represented a high end feel would be best for their brand. They especially liked the idea of using a cursive font in the logo. Below are the two initial concepts that I presented to them.

The clients ended up not liking the cursive, and changed directions. This was an obstacle for me because I still wanted to give them a unique logo for their company, but in these concepts, it was the type that helped provide a uniquely hand touched and "tailored" feel.

One of the clients ended up purchasing a boutique, which would now house The Home Tailor, but the boutique already had an established brand. Now it was my job to provide a simple rebrand to Kudos, the boutique that was purchased, and to connect The Home Tailor logo to it. Below is Kudos. The logo did not change, but I provided secondary logos and icons to help compliment the main logo that already existed, and gave a fresh look to their branding. I delivered a full website, social media posts, business cards, and an assortment of print deliverables, advertisments and signs.

To match The Home Tailor Logo to Kudos, my clients requested that I put the middle dot into the logo. I kept the cursive font to provide a uniqueness, and in the second concept I matched the font of "home" to the font used in Kudos.

After seeing these logo options, my clients decided that they wanted The Home Tailor to look identical to Kudos. Below is the logo that was chosen.

For The Home Tailor, I created a full brand, marketing and advertising materials, business cards, brochures, and a website. This project taught me so much about client management. From changing business goals and directions to changing the logo several times, lots of different thought and styles went into this project. The image included at the top of this page is the logo I would have chosen for this business if it was mine and did not have to relate to the Kudos branding. It has a strong personality, and provides a unique "tailored" feel that represents the brand best. Though the client didn't choose the logo that I preferred, this project taught me more than any other project I have worked on, and as the sole graphic designer they worked with, it was on me to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Here is the website and social media created for The Home Tailor. The website is very simple, and still in progress as my clients revise the services they offer.
